There are two suggested options for parking (both roadside):
1. N 51 18.973, W000 46.834
This gives a shorter walk to the cache.
2. N 51 18.302, W000 47.768 This will give a much longer
walk (5 mile round trip) to the cache but is probably the prettier
route as you pass Hawley Lake en-route. Hawley Lake is about 200
years old and was formed by the damming of a small tributary of the
River Blackwater on Hawley Common. Take some bread for ducks and
watch the sailing boats!
Whichever route you choose, we recommend that you keep to the
main paths and tracks. You are looking for a 1.0ltr 'clip &
lock' plastic box containing a selection of goodies. The cache is
just off the path.
It is worth taking time to walk up to the Triangulation pillar
on Hawley Hill (N51 19.144, W000 47.475). For the film buffs, the
pre-title hovercraft chase in the Korean demilitarized zone in the
James Bond film – Die Another Day was filmed here.
