Scenic, wildlife, hard packed trail along the Missouri River, placed to encourage followers of Lewis and Clark. Only the very end is difficult at all.
Special Note: The Steamboat Trace Bike Trail is closed during the week-long rifle deer season in Nebraska every November.
This geocache is one of a string of caches along the Missouri River of Nebraska and Iowa specializing in following the Lewis and Clark Expedition. You may park at the parking coordinates provided and walk or bike to the cache along Steamboat Trace Bike Trail. The hike is about a 1 mile round-trip. This cache was placed with permission of the land owner and local help on the cache placement.
Update 11-10-2012: Original cache owner, The Three Amigos, can no longer care for the cache. Ownership was transferred to GeoJudt to keep it going for years to come.
