Geocache Description:

A traditional cache along the popular India Venster route up Table Mountain

The India Venster route is named after the 'window' it crosses- a large patch of greenery that from far resembles the shape of the Indian subcontinent. The route is well known and well worn, most hiking books will have a detailed description of it, hence I shall not go into detail here. A word of caution: many people have tried to get to the top of the Mountain via the India Venster and did totally underestimate the climb involved- a few have even lost their lives here. This route includes some awkward scrambling and the Parks Board has recently put some steel staples and chains onto the most difficult section of the climb. This makes getting up there a bit easier than it used to be - but still don't underestimate it!
The cache is situated on a broad ledge BEFORE you get to the first staples.
Once you have been to the cache and decide to continue upwards, follow the yellow painted footprints, they will lead you along 'Fountain Ledge' towards the top of Table Mountain, right at the top of Platteklip Gorge.
