How Geocaching Works
In the Heritage Hartman Reserve bike trail.
What is magnificent about this area is that the Cardinal flower blooms in late summer along trails near Bullfrog Bayou. The Bullfrog Bayou deck area was built by the Iowa Conservation Corps. It is a beautiful site to overlook the Iowa Wetland Heritage. Wetlands are sometimes called swamps, bogs, marshes, potholes, oxbows, shallow ponds, fens, and wet medows. Bullfrog Bayou is part of an old oxbow or channel of the Cedar River tha has been bisected by roads and the South Riverside Trail.
