One of my favorite viewspots in the Sparta Mountain WMA. A great mid-circuit break point as you come around the lake.
Have I been getting you out here a lot? Great, as this is becoming one of the best geocaching areas in northern New Jersey. With cachers like Treequest, Tick Magnets, Skully & Mulder and Woodlit all competing for creative placements and fantastic locations, how can you go wrong.
The cache placement here requires some attention as your approach to the destination includes areas where there are steep drops and loose rocks. This delivers the 3.5 difficulty rating. The cache itself is a large variety ammo can.
All my usual caveats apply here - yes, its out in the middle of the woods; yes, there are bears and snakes in the area; yes, its a Wildlife Management Area so wear orange during hunting season; and yes, its one of the most spectacular matural resources around. Know what to do with the above and you will have a blast.
