Placed on top of rocky/sandy hill at the Rasor Road OHVRA in wonderful So Cal. Cache elevation is 1266ft above sea level. A 2wd truck can get you the base of the hill, but steep hike, dirt bike, or hard core 4wd vehicle will get you to the top. There are several roads/trails to the top from all sides of the hill. Best way to get to base of hill is via Rasor Rd exit from highway I-15. Follow Rasor Rd heading south of highway.
Welcome to the Rasor Road Sand Dunes!!!
During our anual Rasor Rd riding trip, I decided to hide a chache out here so that other cachers can see this really great sandy and weird area. The key word here is SAND. This area used a water stop for the T&T (Tonopah & Tidewater) Railroad transporting Borax from Death Valley to Barstow and to Los Angeles. Some of the original railroad bed is still there, and even has some ties and wood posts intact! There was also the Rasor Ranch house, but that has since been destroyed. The foundation and a comemorative plaque still exist.

Remider: This is the extreem California remote desert!! It can be very hot in the summer time, and very cold in the winter. Check the weather reports for Barstow, CA. and Baker, CA to get an approximation. This area is also subject to flash flooding. This area IS the Mojave River Wash.

The find should be simple, but getting there is the tough part.

Original Contents:
-Log Book
-Pencils (for log book and trading)
-C-6 Corvette
-Train
-Earplugs
-Stress tester
-Headphones
-Fishing lures
-FMF keychain

Cache is a small Tupperware type platic container.
** The tupperware lid is labled as 'The Wal Mart Cache' which was going to be the original name, but I changed my mind. Sorry for the confusion.**
Enjoy the view!

AlanRRT and I had been preparing a mini-desert FTF-run for several days. We attempted to find a pair of new caches both North and South of I-40. We found several other caches along our route. This was our fourth find of the day. Awesome views from this location. SL Thank you for adding to our geo-adventure.

The sand was deep and soft, so my 4x4 got us most, but not all, of the way to the cache.

Out on a run with some of the Scoutswest boys and thought this would be a good cache to start with. We all enjoyed the trek to get there, and the youngsters enjoyed their first cache. Some of us had a harder time getting up the hill than others, but fun was had by all. TNLNSL
