Geocache Description:

This area needs more caches that don't need four wheel drive!! The cache is a 35mm film container in a common hiding place... sort of. Bring a pen or pencil.

The complex you're looking at is the University of Nevada Fire Science Academy. People come from all over the world to train here in petrochemical firefighting, Industrial Rescue and Shipboard firefighting techniques. I've been a petrochemical firefighter and instructor for Shell Oil for better than thirty years. My associatiion with UNR started in the mid seventies when the school first came to be at Stead Airforce Base north of Reno Nevada.The access to the school is via exit 282 on I-80. going west you'll pass by the academy and have to backtrack on the frontage road. Going east the exit is about two miles before you get to the academy. Just follow the signs to the fire school. This is one of the finest schools of it's type and truly a world class operation. If you're lucky, there will be a class on the field and there might be some burnin' goin' on!!
