Geocache Description:

Cache is at posted coordinates but you must first meet the requirements of this challenge in order to log a find on it.

The cache is down a red dirt road that is not maintained during the winter and will be muddy in the spring and after rain. It is a nice snowshoe and cross-country ski during the winter.

The marathon is a long-distance running event with an official distance of 42.195 kilometres (26 miles and 385 yards), that is usually run as a road race. The event was instituted in commemoration of the fabled run of the Greek soldier Pheidippides, a messenger from the Battle of Marathon (the namesake of the race) to Athens. The marathon was one of the original modern Olympic events in 1896, though the distance did not become standardized until 1921. (visit link)

This "caching marathon" will utilize the #26 (for miles), not #42 (for kilometers)!

The Rules:

* You need to have found a cache (or attended an Island geo-event) placed (or hosted) by 26 different Island cachers.

* All past finds count (so there will be some who are immediately eligible).

* ALL cache types count. Any terrain. Any difficulty.

* It must be a Groundspeak cache.

* Finds do NOT have to be consecutive. They can be found over any period of time.

* Finds still count even if the cache subsequently gets archived.

* If you are a premium member, you should create a public Bookmark which includes your caching name in the title. It must also include the qualifying caches that you have found which meets the requirements of this challenge. You should then link your Bookmark to the cache page. In the comments field of each of the caches in the Bookmark, state the name of the cache, the GC codes and the Island cacher who placed the cache. If you are not a premium member, in your Found It log, please include your qualifying cache names, GC codes, and the name of the Island cacher who placed the cache.

The cache in isolation merits D1.5/T1.5. However, I have given it D3.0 to relect the effort you will need to put in to qualify for it.
