Geocache Description:

Years ago Mt Rowe became known as “The Alpine Ridge”, a small ski area in Gilford that opened in the mid 60’s with just a T-Bar. In the 71-72  season a chairlift was installed with a vertical drop of 400ft.
With new ownership in the mid 70’s an Alpine slide was installed for summer time use and the name was changed from Mt Rowe to “The Alpine Ridge”. Skiing at the Ridge ended in the mid 80’s with the slide finally closing in the late 80’s.
This was a nice small Mt close to home that I enjoyed skiing at with my family. I thought this would be a fitting spot to hide my first cache. This is a tribute cache for Hyperheidi, a world-class skier and avid cacher !!

There is a gate that is usually closed but there is parking for 4 or 5 cars right at the gate.

The cache is a small lock n lock that has room for small TB's.  The FTF will get a bag of gold !! smiley
