At 3210ft Scafell Pike is England’s highest peak – but you know
that already – otherwise you wouldn’t be contemplating this
one.
Scafell Pike is located in the Lake District, between Wasdale and
Keswick, there are numerous routes up from several different
valleys and I wouldn’t recommend any as easy. In good weather the
round trip will take you between 4 and 7 hours depending on where
you start from and your level of fitness. Unfortunately there are
relatively few days of the year when the weather in Wasdale would
be described as good.
HEALTH WARNING: Do not attempt this cache without some prior
experience of fell walking and an understanding of weather
conditions - or with out proper preparation and planning. If you
want clearer warning of the hazards for the ill prepared, go to the
Wasdale
Mountain Rescue website and look under "Call Outs".
To claim this cache post a photo of yourself – GPSr to hand – at
the coordinates next to the summit cairn and log your route to the
top and experiences getting there (and back).
Good luck.

November 8 by Spookyhunter (27 found) Climbed up yesterday from seathwaite via the corridor route, the weather was afwful took us 5 hours up due to heavy snow, a group of Irishmen had to guide us down as gps threw a wobbly and map was ruined. Photo to follow of Spookhunter A and B at the summit as we are still in the lakes, amazing but nearly 9 hours in total got back in the dark and a million pounds wouldn't get me back up in the winter!!

| October 29 by muddypuddles (468 found) A great walk up from Seathwaite via Calf Cove, in the company of Wooden Knights and Big Sidney. Took an eventful trip down through the corridor and down by the waterfall on a very mild and clear day. The views were amazing. | October 28 by McYeo (959 found) Found after a long trek up from Seathwaite, via Styhead Tarn and then along the corridor route. I posed while HazBaz took the photo, I didn't return the favour as I have enough of his self portraits filling up my memory card as it is. TFTC #952
[view this log] | October 28 by Welsh Warriors (42 found) What a walk! The longest rockiest path that I have ever walked on. Started off down in Seathwaite whilst it was thrashing it down. Reached the summit after about 3 hours. Extremely misty so unfortunately we couldn't see any views all along the walk. :( However it was a great achievement. TFTC Welsh Warriors sjw

| October 28 by HazBaz (185 found) On a geocaching excursion with McYeo and Manic Blob. We took the Corridor Route from Seathwaite direction (apparently pronounced "Seathette" --thanks McYeo for that one--). Anyway, the route was long and boring due to lack of views, but I still managed ot make myself useful with McYeo's camera. I think there are more self-portraits than anything else on the memory card now! Decided not to do Glaramara on the way back, but a good day. McYeo should post the picture (it was taken on his camera by me). TFTC, HazBaz.
