Fern Alley Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

2Wheel'in: Alas...it is said that "all good things must come to an end"....and so it is with the geocache. After just over 12 years, 352 Finds and 2 DNFs, I've decided to Archive this one. Not only was the log book soaked, but the container itself was broken and no longer water resistant. Many thanks to all that hunted for "Fern Alley"..I enjoyed reading your logs. The container was picked up today, and the contents will be recycled.

Geocache Description:

A clear, wide dirt path will lead you to within approximately 80 feet of the cache location, minimal bushwhacking required as you approach the cache. Area will be muddy after it rains.

There are numerous access points, but there’s plenty of parking available at Fred Crabtree Park (AKA Fox Mill Park), off Fox Mill Road. There are 4 other caches (GCJT5W, GC89DD, GCGQ47, & GCJT60) in this nice little park, this cache is intended to fill in a gap among them on the backside of the park. You can make a loop hike of just over 1 mile to search for all of them. Finding this cache will not be difficult, it’s hidden in a very traditional way, and the hike is kid friendly. The cache itself is a clear plastic container (medium size) with a red screw top lid. Please replace it with the lid up to help maintain water resistance, and cover it as well or better than found.

NOTICE: Please be respectful of the posted park hours. If you enter the park after hours you are trespassing. If you are stopped you can be ticketed or arrested and will put the future of geocaching in the parks in jeopardy
