Geocache Description:

Cache is in the hills of old gold dredged slag. Alt. is 719ft.

Ahhh, the ol' pioneer days, how we miss them. If it weren't for Gold, Fairbanks might not be here. This cache pays homage to the sourdoughs of old. Located in the slag mounds of the gold dredges of yesteryear, this cache contains all the trappings a modern day gold panner might need.

  • Small vial of gold flakes to represent the good days.
  • Book: Alaska Gold Prospecters Guide signed by the author.
  • Book: Gold Placer Deposits Near Fairbanks, Alaska
  • Sierra Club Wilderness Survival Guide Flashcards: maybe if these were available in the early days, there'd have been less accidents!
  • Last Frontier Shot Glass for those long cold nights of winter when the odds aren't good.
  • Small Goldpan with Cabin Painting to represent years of tacky tourist gifts the gold rush gave us...
  • Most Popular Nugget in Alaska, the gold moose nugget. In earing form.
