Geocache Description:

The River Trail A 10-mile trail is being developed between the Columbia Gorge Discovery Center and The Dalles Dam. There are pieces of the trail that have already been completed and are great places to take your dog; kids and yourselves for a nice leisurely walk along the mighty and beautiful Columbia River.

We don’t want you to have to pack a heavy back pack full of things to trade so we have made these caches a series of mini caches…not quite micros because there are small trading items inside. Drop a few small trinkets into your pockets and just go for a walk.
This series of caches is designed to give you a reason to get down onto the walking, jogging, biking trail and enjoy the view of the water and wild life! This is our 6th cache in the area.
The trail is now open on the west side of the tunnel towards the Discovery Center.
The Discovery cache is a small Tupperware container. Once again we only want you to have to carry small items…no backpacks or large trade items. Keep it simple. Go for a walk and enjoy the area. You’ll be able to see where the trail derailment was. We walked the trail last night and wondered where they found the Indian burial site? We didn’t see any evidence of it.
We did see two snakes on the paved trail soaking up the sun so be careful of them.
