This cache is located near the Pointe Aux Barques lighthouse in Huron County’s Lighthouse Park.
This pleasant little park is between Port Hope and Huron City, just off of M-25. The 1857 lighthouse is a great photo opportunity – bring your camera. The Pointe Aux Barques Lighthouse Society maintains a museum in the former lighthouse keeper’s residence. It contains information and exhibits on the lighthouse, life-saving station and local area shipwrecks. Admission is $5.00. Details and hours of operation for the museum may be found in their website at www.pointeauxbarqueslighthouse.org. The 120 acre county park also has 110 camping sites, picnic areas, and a playground. Notes: The coordinates were jumping around a little so we took an average of four readings. If you get something different, please let us know. Climbing on the rugged rocks along the shoreline is neither necessary nor recommended.
