Ancient Rocks Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

Wis Kid: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

Welcome to Bjornson! Parking is available at: N44 55.829 W092 04.850 Please do not block the gate. There is also a small parking spot where your vehicle will be completely off the road at N44 56.027 W092 06.042 The neighbors have kindly kept it cut this summer, so please don't park on their lawn. (The spot to park is just large enough for one vehicle.) Please do not park along the side of the road because the tractors and other machinery need a lot of space. There is no trail from the parking spot, just an open field.

This cache requires a long hike on a logging road which is the reason for the 2.5 terrain rating (if you park at the main entrance.) It's still a 2.5 terrain if you park closer because that field isn't very level. This cache features a group of ancient rocks. Look close, do you see any little former life forms? These very ancient rocks can be found all around Bjornson.

You are hunting an ammo can. Easy to find, but please try to cover it again before you leave. The bugs are out in force so bring plenty of bug spray. Drinking water is available at the classroom and in the campground. Both pumps work and the water is great! You can also drink the water from the springs! Pit toilets are unlocked but I'd recommend you bring your own toilet paper.

Want a trail map? I've added a photo of the trail map to "Bjornson - Welcome Cachers".
