Many finders have left very positive comments about this cache. Thank You all. Some cachers are happier doing 5 minute parking lot micros. I don't hide those, and this 6 stage multicache on State Game Land possibly is not for you. If you accept the challenge to do this cache wear Blaze Orange.
There is flowing water in the area. The lower the water level, the more options you will have. Depending when you go and which route you take, there can be standing water involved. Be careful. There is a possibility you could get your feet wet.
5/5/2007: Moved Stage 5 today. Dropped the Terrain rating from 3.5 to 3 and changed the hint. These stages are in mostly wooded areas. Don't expect great GPS reception year round.
8/1/12 Here I am back at Stage 5 again. Now trying my third slight variation in my attempt to keep the coords dry. The wooden dowel does take on a dark color when wet. Drying it a little makes the coords at least readable again. But this time I placed a small RED piece of engraved plastic in the container. Water can't hurt it now.
I have two Parking Areas listed for this cache (both ends of the Gameland). N40° 10.840 W75° 43.900 is a large lot on the St. Peters end (lot closed from 8PM to 8AM). N40° 10.538 W75° 45.090 is a small area on Trythall Road (this secondary location is not recommended, but it is available). This cache is set up to start from the St. Peters lot and guide you back again.
The first 2 stages of this cache are near a former railroad bed (all tracks have been removed). The extent of the railroad bed trail on the Gameland property is from N40° 10.855 W75° 43.965 to N40° 10.538 W75° 45.090 (the Trythall Rd. parking area). There is a nearly 200 yard area on this trail suffering some degree of washout from the creek. If the creek is low enough you can make your way through in dry shoes. If the creek is high, there are trails around the washout (the length of these trails are noticeably longer than the section they bypass).
All remaining stages and the Final are farther removed from that trail, but they are accessible from other connected trails (after you decide where you are going to cross the creek). Calm water might encourage you to do some rock hopping, but remember that trains crossed over these creeks quite easily in the past. The first 4 stages are in 7" tall containers (about 3” diameter) with screw on tops. On 4/24/2010 stage 5 was changed to a comparably sized but more weatherproof container The final is a .50 caliber Ammo Can.
If you go after this, I want you to find it. I give good hints and good coordinates. They should be specific enough to pinpoint the locations even with the containers fairly well hidden. I recently found two stages basking in partial or full sunshine. I would appreciate it if that didn't happen any more.
