December 19, 2009 by w_bovine (3776 found) This one turned out to be a real pain. I was already woefully short on time and still was a fair distance from Tri Peaks, from where I was to head back down toward civilization. I searched for a good long time and came up empty. And, what is referred to in the hint was right where I was seeing GZ to be! Very frustrating! Eventually I figured I'd better check the other side just in case. Sure enough, that's where I found the cache in very short order. My readings for GZ looked to be a good 30' off from where I found the cache. Not an easy spot to get to, but it can be done with only a small amount of grief. Figuring out which way to go is the hardest part.

November 28, 2009 by pianofab (523 found) I came really close to this one when I was working on the Spinal Tap challenge. At the time I arrived here via Sandstone Peak + Inspiration Point with the summer heat, so I decided to put it off. Much cooler (perhaps even too cold for me) today. I found a Minolta lens cover on the ground near the "fireplace" and dropped it into the cache for easier retrieval. As I was approaching from a side trail I kept thinking to myself: "this cannot be right". And then I thought: "wait a minute, didn't I just read this somewhere?". So I figured it had to be the right approach to the cache. TFTC

October 27, 2009 by dbir (1114 found) To plan my route to this cache, I consulted Google Earth (often works, often doesn't -- for me). As I followed that route today, I kept looking toward the cache location and thinking, "this route cannot work." Indeed, I almost turned around and aborted it twice, but decided to see it through up to an impassable obstacle I expected. Suddenly, the bushes cleared away, and it was like a miracle. The "lay of the land" unexpectedly overcame my imaginary obstacle. For those who ever played the computer game "Adventure" (the first adventure computer game, in the 1970s), it was as if I had shaken that rod with the rusty star on top. Really raised my spirits, and made this one my "Cache of the Day."This is a great cache. Getting here is challenging, and the location is great. Thanks for luring me here.
