What Is A GeoPoker Run?
A GeoPoker Run is where several caches have been hidden specifically for an event.  This event will have 7 traditional regular caches, each containing an envelope of tickets.

The object of this GeoPoker Run is to collect all seven tickets. When you have completed the run, you will be able to exchanged each ticket for a random draw from a deck of cards.  The best hand wins the first choice of prizes and additional prizes will be awarded in a descending order and according to your poker hand.

These caches will be fairly simple finds.  We want to make sure everyone will be able to find all 7 caches in a fair amount of time.  There might be a couple multi-caches thrown in just to make it fun.  In the end, each participant will be able to log 7 new caches and 1 special event cache.

The Event:
The location of the event will be at the Jarstad Park in the Gorst near Bremerton (See above coordinates).  This GeoPoker Run will start at 11:00am and run until 3:30pm.  At 4:00pm the Raffle start. Prizes will be awarded after the raffle.  There is plenty of available parking along the paved access road into the park.

The picnic area is covered and has lots of tables, although if you'd like to sit in the grassy area, you'll want to bring your own lawn chairs or blankets.  Running water and bathroom facilities are available.  Also, there will be a travel bug exchange site.

The Food:

This is a potluck. Please bring a dish of your choice. Hot dogs, buns, condiments, paper plates and plastic-ware will be provided.

The Rules:
  • Every person participating must register prior to beginning of the event.
  • Registering fee will be a suitable, caching related prize item.
  • You must physically visit each cache.
  • Not completing all 7 traditional regular caches will not result in a disqualification. You will just be play with a limited hand.
  • Within each of the 7 traditional regular caches will be an envelope of tickets.  On the back of each ticket will be a corresponding number to each cache(#1 for cache 1, #2 for cache 2, etc.)
  • Upon returning to the park, which will be the finish, each participant must trade in their own numbered tickets (1 though 7) for a random draw of 1 to 7 cards from a deck of 52 cards.  Once a deck has been depleted to less than 7 cards, a new deck of 52 cards will be used.
  • Each participants hand will be the best 5 cards from their own 7 cards.  Ties will be determined from the 2 extra cards.  If there needs to be an additional tie breaker, it will be done by a cut of the cards (a brand new deck).
  • Prizes will be awarded from Best High Hand, which will get first choice, to the Worst Low Hand.  Everyone will be a winner!
  • Additional Prizes will be given for: Best & Worst Red Hands and Best & Worst Blue Hands.

Appropriate Prizes As Your Entry Fee:

An appropriate geocaching prize would be something you would like to find in a cache and want for yourself.  Some examples might be: Geocoins, pre-made caches, first aid kits, flashlights, headlamps, walking sticks, and etc.

What is not acceptable is anything that is used and kids toys from fast-food places, lame swag and Travel Bugs. EXCEPTIONS: Ammo-Boxes and Unactivated TB tags.

Notice of Disclaimer:

Standard caching rules apply and each person is responsible for their own personal safety.  While we will make every effort to make each cache location safe, you must make your own determination if a cache is within your physical ability to retrieve.
