Geocache Description:

You are looking for a magnetized key holder.

*****Remember to write the number from this cache for the final*****

Welcome to the C2Crew series! The crew and I have been geocaching for about 6 years through the State Park system and Boy Scouts. However, we only learned about geocaching.com in the past year. We have had so much fun on our 900 or so logged finds this far, and wanted to start giving back. Plus we wanted to introduce ourselves to the community. The seven members of our household each planned and placed a cache to signify something about themselves. You write down the number on the log and inside the lid of the container to find the final which is my hide. Please use the bookmark list to find the other cache listings for: correspondent.minion, deers.cry, james.fowl6, jojo, lu, scoutquest.sam, and the final which is cornelsius2.

The location of this cache is on the Gateway Trail. A bridge was placed over County HWY 15/Manning Ave at the Gateway Trail to give safe passage over this ever-busier road and to preserve a piece of history. The bridge is over 130 years old and one of the few remaining wrought iron bridges in Minnesota. It has a unique Parker (camelback) truss. The truss was originally built in Sauk Center in 1877. It was disassembled and reassembled in 1937 over the Little Fork River in Koochiching County. It was then moved one more time to its current location in the last couple of months. Feel free to cross to the other end of the bridge where you can find a sign picturing the bridge at its previous home.

This cache is named after centaur97 (like the year of his birth). We pass this bridge several times a week on the way to the ballet studio and have been watching its progress for months. The bridge carries no motorized traffic, but hosts many bikes, runners, hikers, and horses.

Many no parking signs greet you at the access to this section of the trail. Closest parking is at:

N 45 06.365
W 092 51.966

Closest Gateway Trail access is at:

N 45 06.206
W 092 52.005

You may not want to make the short walk along Co 15 with small children. However, it is the Gateway Trail with many access points where you can bike or hike from. The trip from the posted parking spot to the cache is approx a quarter mile. Remember to write down the number for the final!
