Geocache Description:

You've been waiting patiently for quite a while... The time has finally arrived. That's right, I'm talking about the

2nd Ghost River Float Trip
caching and CITO event!

The Place:Where Bateman Road Crosses the Wolf River

The Date:April 22, 2012

The Time:9:30 AM

The Twist:CITO! Bring a mesh bag to stow the trash you retrieve along the river. Al is bringing his large canoe/barge as well.

The Outfitter of choice:Ghost River Rentals. When I was looking for a canoe outfitter, I found out that one of the owners is a cacher.

Notes:
We will meet at Bateman Bridge at 9:30am. Once gathered, we will caravan to the put-in where Lagrange Road crosses the Wolf. Please call Mark at Ghost River Rentals (901-485-1220) soon if you plan to rent a canoe or kayak. Don't leave it to the last minute or you may find yourself boatless. It's OK to bring your own boat. There is no requirement to rent a boat for the float. I have listed GRR's info just so you will know where to get a boat. The event is not a commercial venture.

I will answer your questions to the best of my ability. Either post them here, the GOWT page on FB or to my e-mail. Bring snacks, lunch, water, a bag for your trash and for any trash you see on the river, sunscreen, skeeter repellant and a sense of adventure.

Please post a note here when you have reserved your boat (canoe or kayak) or if you plan to bring your own boat. This will allow us to have an idea how many boats are still available for the trip. John boats may not make it through the Ghost if the water is low.

I think folks enjoyed the last Ghost Float event. You can judge for yourself based on some of the photos in the gallery from that event.
