Walk in the Woods

This is the 24th in a series of caches to commemorate our towns 300th Anniversary: 1711-2011. The Tricentennial Committee sponsored a Township wide geocache hunt which was held in May 2011. Warminster Township has asked to have a geocache event in Fall 2012 in conjunction with planting another 300 trees in the Warminster Community Park - stay tuned.

During it's planning, we had many sketches for the various natural elements in the park. One constant was this perimeter security trail.

Sit on the bench and look at the sign to the left of you. Further down to your left is the Navigation Labs owned by Penn State University. You are also looking in the direction of another cache: Warminster Community Park by Taxman.

The area behind you is Shenadoah Woods. This is currently Navy housing which in 2011 will be transferred under the McKinney Act to private ownership. The goal is to rehabilitate the site by eliminating every third townhouse. This will create twin homes instead of townhomes. The twins will be extensively rehabilitated. In addition to the twins, there will be singles on the perimeter adjacent to the existing privately owned single family homes.

Camoed film cannister. Not in the original location. PLEASE replace so that it lasts longer. Many muggles in the park.
