Geocache Description:

Situated close to the Croquet club in Bleadon Village. Some stealth will be required as close to the quiet village shop and tea room.

Bleadon is a historic village listed in the Domesday book in 1086 as Bledone, meaning 'The coloured hill'

The village church of St Peter and St Paul was built in the 14th century and is worth a look around. The tower contains 5 bells dating from 1711 made by Edward Bilbie.

One of the churches rectors, Edward Powell, refused to take Henry VII's Oath of Succession and so was hanged, drawn and quartered at Smithfield in 1540. He has since been recognised as a martyr by the Catholic Church.

Cache is a small box with room for a few swaps.
