Difficulty 1 to 3. This is a 6 mile round trip on boots/snowshoes or XC
skis in the winter, 1/4 mile round trip hike in the summer. The road may be
closed by the park service at any time without warning during the
winter.
Terrain is 1 to 4 depending on season. In winter plan on a
whole day and bring a lunch. Also bring
the camera and the trusty binoculars. Great views into the heart of the
Sierras in mid-winter. If you snowshoe or hike in winter, please don't
stomp all over the cross-country ski trail - it creates an unnecessary
hazard for XC skiiers.
