Team Shydog would like to invite all to meet us at the CCC Shelter
at the Salamonie State Forrest on Sunday June 15th, 2008. The
mission of the day will be to help retrieve the numerous caches
that were archived in the area at the request of the DNR. It took a
few years to place these caches and the task to remove them would
be almost overwhelming for one cacher. I believe by coming together
as a community and picking the caches up in a timely manner we can
show DNR that we are willing to work with them to make the Upper
Wabash Valley area a positive place for geocaching.
The tentative schedule for the event is to meet at the shelter at
9am for a short briefing and to receive a list of caches that need
picked up. You can work as a team or individually to retrieve the
caches.
A HOT DOG COOKOUT will
be held from 12pm-1:30pm at the CCC
Shelter!
From 1:30 to 3pm, a final push will be made to pick up any
remaining caches.
This event will be going on from 9am-3pm, if you cannot make it at
9am, that is fine, show up when you can. If you want to just show
up for hot dogs and conversation that is fine as well.
Special note:
The Cache IN Cache Out-Salamonie CITO Event is being held under
special circumstances. The DNR has requested the listed caches be
picked up and the cache owners have given permission for the their
caches to be picked up and removed as part of this CITO event. We
will only be picking up the caches that are listed in the bookmark
lists posted to this event page.
If you want to make a weekend of caching in the Northern Indiana,
Lord Elwood is hosting an event on Saturday June 14th, check out
