Atop the Ridgetop Trail Traditional Geocache

This cache is located along the Ridgetop Trail in Sugar Notch. The 3.06-mile trail begins at a trailhead in the Phase I section of the Greater Hanover Area Recreation Park and runs the ridgeline of Wilkes-Barre Mountain, ending at a second trailhead on Main Street on the West end of Sugar Notch beside St. Mary’s/Holy Family Cemeteries. The trail is marked with white blazes on the trees.
The Ridgetop Trail is located on Earth Conservancy land, and this cache is placed in accordance with their rules & regulations. Use of the land is permitted from sunrise to sunset. Hunting is permitted in this area, so please wear orange during hunting season! The cache is located about 250 feet from the trail. Ground zero brings you to a spectacular view of the Wyoming Valley.
There are two sets of coordinates listed for parking. For this cache, I recommend parking at Parking Option Two. The hike is a bit longer, but you'll have a much "cooler" experience!
The are several spurs off the marked trail. Your best bet is to stay on the marked trail and avoid the maze of side trails. This way you avoid lengthening your hike and will not need to bushwhack!
The cache is a regular-sized plastic container. In addition to a logbook and pencil, there are items available to trade, and plenty of room for trackables. Please hide the container as well as, if not better than, you found it.
