Geocache Description:

The cache is located in an out of the way nature preserve. In a gated community (with public access.. follow directions) away from the general muggles of our world. Our children chose this spot for the beautiful views that can be had, and the cuddly little bunnies we find here. Mosquito alert.. bug spray mandatory!

The cache container is an ammo box with decent seals. No bushwhacking needed here.. 15' off trail.

Fishing reel
NYC PBA card 2003
Sportrak Cover (used) but original and nice.)
A ziplock with some McToy stuff.. pound puppy, spin top, dirtbike, pins.

Directions to Thorne Preserve: from the Long Island Expressway, take Exit 51 and travel south on Rte. 231 for 7.5 miles to the intersection of Rte 27A (Montauk Highway). Turn left (east) onto Rte. 27A and proceed 3 miles. Turn right (south) into the Admiralty Condominiums entrance (brick wall with gatehouse N40 42.381 W73 15.898). Tell the guard you are visiting The Nature Conservancy trail. Past the gatehouse, turn left onto Admiral's Drive East. Go about .4 mile and turn right onto Harbor Lane. Park opposite the kiosk for residences #114-117 N40 42.351 W73 15.560. Walk into the left of the driveway for #114-117, following the oak leaf sign and arrow on the driveway light post, stay left and look along tree line. 30 feet in, look for the trail entrance gate marked by another oak leaf sign. Walk across the lawn to the trail. Please close the gate when you go in and out. PLEASE BE COURTEOUS.. Keep noise down. This IS NOT private property.. the area is used as an entrance to the preserve, but we must keep the neighbors privacy in mind.

PLEASE NOTE: The guards should let you in with no problems. Explain that there is a public nature preserve entrance located on their property. The Nature Conservancy has an agreement with Admiralty Condominiums.

As with all south shore caching prepare for ticks.

After your successful cache find!! Go to N40 42.000 W73 15.410 and enjoy your bagged lunch. Great view!
