This cache has been archived.

GeoCrater: I am regretfully archiving this cache since there's been no word from the owner in the month or more since the last reviewer note was posted. If you want to re-activate the cache during the next couple of months, please contact GeoCrater to see if that's possible. If the cache meets current guidelines, consideration will be given based on the circumstances surrounding the original archival.

Additional translation added as I support a number of countries:

Geocache Description:

Note from Okiebryan... I'm honored to adopt part of this series and to keep it going... I'm especially honored to be caring for this cache, since it was my first cache find way back in 2006, before I even had a GPS.

Congratulations to Blaidd-Drwg for FTF!

U.S. Route 66 is affectionately called the "Mother Road." It went from Chicago to Los Angeles. It was the subject of a TV show and a popular song, "Get Your Kicks On Route 66." The highway has been decommissioned and now, in Western Oklahoma, it is replaced by Interstate 40. In a few places I-40 was built right over the old road. However, in most places you can still see the old road. Let's go see it!!

For more information on Route 66, please go to Route 66, Enjoy the Ride!

The cache container is a brown m&m's minis candy container. It is a plastic tube about four inches long and about an inch in diameter. There are no trading items or writing instrument. There's only a log sheet.

The old road has been removed and nice trees have been planted.
