Pine Hills, Indiana's first dedicated nature preserve, is two miles north of Shades State Park on SR 234. This is an absolutely beautiful park with some of the most unique rock formations in the state. As you enter the park, please register and pick up the trail guide found in the registration box. You can't picnic here but Deers Mill is just down the road and Shades is close by. We've hiked here several times and never ceased to be amazed at its beauty, no matter what time of year.
This is only our second cache placement so if you find the coordinates to be off, please let us know.
The cache is not far off an established trail (maybe 20 feet) with hardly any brush to walk through, so you can wear shorts. We're hoping our friend, CISU, can download some photos for us when they're developed. The cache includes: Log book, air freshener, cd, pass the pigs game, deck of cards, patio coasters, movie trivia cards, game boy game...
Go after this cache, you won't be sorry...and bring your camera. Happy hunting, Ed and Trixie.
