This Cache is located at a Old Cabin a little under 6,800 feet up in the Stillwater Mountains just east of Fallon, Nevada. You will need a 4x4 Vehicle or an ATV to get to the Cabin - the road/trail is often rocky and in a few places a little steep with a few wash outs. The Cache is located in a plastic white container with Range Rebel & Geocaching.com printed on the top.
The Cabin was once a high country cattle camp but apparently has not served that purpose for some time. Over the years the cabin has become a hangout and haven for hunters, hikers, cowboys, and off roaders. The tradition is to leave something useful behind when you visit the cabin. You will find the cabinets stocked with a assortment of stuff like matches, canned food, beer, firewood, and well you get the idea. The reason behind this is so if someone should become stranded for whatever reason there would be a cache of supplies to tide them over.
The drive up offers some great views of the Stillwater high meadows as well as both the Lahontan & Dixie Valleys. The cabin is located in a picturesque high meadow, it's worth the trip.
Since the whole place is a cache the only thing you will find is a logbook, a pen & pencil, and a geocaching letter.
