Geocache Description:

At most 250 feet from road, easy parking available, although on grass, not too muddy.

Following a march from Market Harborough, a decisive battle took place in the English civil war on 14th June 1645 at Naseby, with the Royalists (Cavaliers) being beaten by the Parliamentarians (Roundheads), which made it a bad day for Charles 1, but a good one for Oliver Cromwell. Cromwell eventually became Lord Protector in 1653, Charlie had an even worse day in 1649. It is this battle that the obelisk commemorates, in this now quiet spot. The battlefield museum is very close and signposted from the village.
