Ein Wandercache, bei dessen Suche unter anderem 2 große und 3 kleine Wien-nahe Höhlen zu besichtigen sind.
A hiking cache with 2 bigger and 3 smaller caves near Vienna.
Dieser Cache ist auf keinen Fall mit Buggy zu bewältigen, egal wie robust.
Die Mitnahme von Kindern sollte kein Problem sein, wir sind ihn mit Lisa abgegangen, sie ist 9 und es hat ihr großen Spaß gemacht.
Wir empfehlen die Mitnahme einer Taschenlampe, wer in alle Höhlen hinein will sollte außerdem strapazierfähige Kleidung tragen.
Wir sind bezüglich der Koordinaten der einzelnen Stationen nicht ganz sicher, da es sich aber um eindeutige Punkte handelt, sollte das kein Problem sein.
Alle besuchten Höhlen befinden sich im Höhlenkataster-Gebiet 1915:
Großeinheit 1000 Nördliche Kalkalpen, Alpenvorland, Flyschzone und Grauwakenzone
Hauptgruppe 1900 Wienerwald, Wiener Becken u. Alpenvorland östl. der Traisen
Untergruppe 1910 Wienerwald und Vorland östl. der Traisen
Teilgruppe 1915 Höllensteinzug
Sucher ohne Auto können mit dem Bus 255 ab Liesing Richtung Kaltenleutgeben bzw. Sittendorf fahren, bis zur Station Kaltenleutgeben Postamt.
Hinweis: Alle folgenden Berechnungen beziehen sich auf die Tausendstel-Minuten der Koordinaten.
Bonus
Als Bonus bietet sich Kirchengrat an, ob auf dem Hin- oder auf dem Rückweg ist Geschmackssache.
Aufwärmübung
Wer möchte kann bei N48°06.762, E16°12.040 in eine zum Stollen erweiterte Höhle gehen um bei N48°06.757, E16°12.037 einen Hauch staubiger wieder herauszukommen.
Station 1
N1=48°06.707
E2=16°12.012
Eine kleine Höhle, ohne die Höhlennummerierung nicht als solche erkennbar, da der Eingang mit Laub angefüllt ist.
Die Höhle befindet sich direkt unter der Nummerierung (1915/A), also Vorsicht!.
Besonders mutige Menschen können sich davor hinknien und hineinköpfeln (ich habe mich nur getraut, weil es mir ein Führer vorgezeigt hat ;-)).
Da es recht nah zumindest eine weitere Höhle gibt, einen Zusatzhinweis: Die Zahl A ist ganzzahlig durch 5 teilbar.
Hinweis: Um zu Station 2 zu gelangen ist es leichter, dem Graben zu folgen, bis man rechts eine Futterkrippe sieht.
Station 2
N2 = N1 - A - 7
E2 = E1 - 9 * A
Die Höhle ist 65 m tief, sie wird allerdings immer enger, erst am Ende gibt es eine Sinterkammer, in der man sich umdrehen kann.
Wir haben das nicht ausprobiert ;-)
Stelle dich vor den Höhleneingang und schaue hinaus. Gegenüber siehst du einen Nadelbaum. Ist es eine
Tanne - B = 2 / Eibe - B = 3 / Föhre - B = 4 / Fichte - B = 5.
Station 3
N3 = N2 - A * A - 2 * B
E3 = E2 - (A - 1) * B * 2
Hier muss man wirklich in die Höhle hinein, direkt unter der Stufe beim Eingang liegt ein Microcache mit weiteren Anweisungen.

Station 4
Endlich mal keine Höhle sondern ein Berggipfel!
Beim Gipfelkreuz findest du ein Gipfelbuch. Wann wurde das Behältnis des Buchs erneuert? Bilde die Ziffernsumme des kompletten Datums, subtrahiere 1 und nenne das Ergebnis E.
Station 5
N5 = N4 - E * E * 2 + B
E5 = E4 - C * E
An dem Aussichtsturm ist eine Steintafel mit dem Namen des Turmes angebracht. Zähle die Buchstaben F.
Station 6
N6 = N5 - F * 10
E6 = E5 - A * (C - B) - 1
Wieder eine Höhle! Über dem Haupteingang ist ein Buchstabe aufgemalt, seine Position im Alphabet sei G.
Hinweis: Es ist nicht das neuere K gemeint.
Wer will kann in den Gang links hineinkriechen und kommt bei einem anderen Ausgang heraus.
Station 7 (Cache)
N7 = N 48°05.xxx xxx = A * A + G * G - 2 * B
E7 = E 16°11.0yy yy = B + E + G
Eine sehr kleine Höhle.
This cache you can definitely not do with a buggy, not even a sturdy one.
We recommend that you take a flashlight with you and wear clothes that can be cleaned easily if you want to climb into all of the caves.
We are not too sure about the accuracy of the coordinates of some stages, but as all points are well defined this should be no problem.

A good starting point is the church of Kaltenleutgeben, which you can reach by bus 255 from Liesing, direction Kaltenleutgeben or Sittendorf, the stop is Kaltenleutgeben Postamt.
Attention: All following calculations concern thousandth parts of minutes.

You might want to visit the bonus cache Kirchengrat, either on the way up or on the way back down again.
Warmup
Who wants to can enter a cave that has been expanded into a tunnel at N48°06.762, E16°12.040 and should exit at N48°06.757, E16°12.037, though slightly dirtier.
Stage 1
N1=48°06.707
E2=16°12.012
As the entrance is filled with leaves you wouldn't find the small cave without the registry number (1915/A) above it.
It is directly below the number, be careful so you don't fall into it ;-)
Daredevils might kneel before the cave and dive headlong into it (I only dared to because I was there with a guide who had demonstrated it).
As there is at least one other cave near it, an additional hint: The sequential number A is divisible by 5 without remainder.
Hint: To reach stage 2 it is easier to follow the ditch until you see a manger to the right.
Stage 2
N2 = N1 - A - 7
E2 = E1 - 9 * A
This cave is 65 m deep. It gets rather narrow, but we were told there is a chamber at the end where you can turn around.
We didn't dare to go to til the end ;-)
Get into the cave entrance. Look outside. You see a conifer. Is it a
fir - B = 2 / yew - B = 3 / pine - B = 4 / spruce - B = 5.
Stage 3
N3 = N2 - A * A - 2 * B
E3 = E2 - (A - 1) * B * 2
The first and only cave you really have to enter: There is a micro-cache with further instructions right below the entrance.
Do not forget to note down C.
Stage 4
For once not a cave but a summit.
Near the cross there is the summit register. When has the box of the register been replaced? Take the crossfoot of the complete date, subtract 1 and call the result E.
Stage 5
N5 = N4 - E * E * 2 + B
E5 = E4 - C * E
On the lookout there is a plate made of stone giving ist name. Count the number of letters on this plate giving F.
Stage 6
N6 = N5 - F * 10
E6 = E5 - A * (C - B) - 1
Once again a cave. Above the entrance there is a painted letter. Its position in the alphabet is G.
Hint: It is not the newer letter K. Who wants to might crawl into the branch to the left and leave by another exit.
Stage 7 (Cache)
N7 = N 48°05.xxx xxx = A * A + G * G - 2 * B
E7 = E 16°11.0yy yy = B + E + G
