Park (and search!) and grab on the side of a lightly traveled country road. Since my sons and I hid our first geocache in the spring, my one son in particular has been hooked and been anxious to hide another. I had an idea for an interesting cache and wanted to find a spot not too far from our house to place it. We planned and executed this one together and I hope you enjoy the search.
This micro is intended to be fairly challenging to find, but far from impossible. My goal is definitely to have a few DNF's but the majority of savvy and persistent cachers will find it. There is a pull out on the side of the road in front of the stop sign at the bottom of North Furnace Road to park. There isn't too much traffic on the roads here and the hills and curves tend to keep the vehicle speeds down, but be aware while searching. Be sure to take note of how log is removed and carefully replace it the same way. You will need to bring a pencil. Please provide feedback if it is easier than I anticipated and I will be sure to make our next one more challenging. UPDATED: I have reduced the difficulty rating to reflect the fact that there have been no DNF's logged. Obviously easier than I had hoped. I will do better next time!
