Located near the abandoned Laurel Hill Turnpike Tunnel.
Don't worry-- the cache is not inside the SPOOKY tunnel (though some might like that). The tunnel has been abandoned since the 1960s when the traffic became more than it could handle... so an above ground bypass was built. Most of us have probably been on the bypass, but I'll bet that there aren't so many who have had the experience of driving through the tunnel while it was in operation (let us know if you have). A good route (just about the only route) to this cache is from Kuhntown Road. At the top of the hill, just into the Forbes State Forest (coming from "Kuhn"town), there is a place to park on the right. Follow this grassy trail less than 0.5 mile to the water-tank and cut down into the woods. You can still see the water-tank from the cache and also the roof of the tunnel entrance. Note: The tunnel has a "No Tresspassing" sign above the entrance. State Police frequent the area and don't even like people being on the abandoned roadway that leads into the tunnel. Still, from up in the woods you can get a good view of the tunnel and it's SPOOKYness (or maybe it's just me that thinks it's SPOOKY). ***The Terra Server air photo is crisp!
