First attempt at a puzzle cache. Might need a little math and history to find this one. Don't attempt to park at the listed coordinates. Wasn't sure what to put there when I didn't want to reveal the actual coordinates. Now I see how.
From a point at the Geographical Center of 3 existing caches, use these coordinates as some of these caches may be moved or archived.
Southern Comfort - N 42° 28.994 W 090° 39.999
Dont Fence me in - N 42° 31.830 W 090° 38.433
Under The Smedley - N 42° 30.789 W 090° 41.601
Take the midpoint between said center point and Southern Comfort itself. At that location you will find a virtual cache in my childhood neighborhood. It is located near a sidewalk, you do not need to leave public property to find any of the clues or the final.
This neighborhood changed radically when I lived here due to a thing called Urban Renewal. Much of the downtown area was torn down and rebuilt in the late 60s in the name of progress. A bar now occupies our old living room. Now that’s progress!
For this virtual waypoint to the final, you still need to come to this point to proceed but the meter that had the 6 digit number is gone as of 3/5/2011 so the 6 digit number is

This virtual cache will contain partial numbers to complete the coordinates to the final objective, Fools Gold cache. There are 3 numbers on the structure, (may not be a building, when you find it it will be a gas) 2 phone numbers and another number containing 6 digits. Ignore all special characters and spaces in all clues. Use the 6 digit number only.
Based on the number given the first coord for final is N 42 29.851
Where:
XX is the first and third digit of the 6 digit number.
YY is the third digit and sum of the 4th and 5th digits.
ZZZ is 2nd and 4th digit, then a 1.
Find the virtual cache before proceeding north.....
Then proceed 1 block north and stop at that street. At this point you are looking down the alley of my boyhood home. Look to your right (east) and half block away is a pizza joint. That pizza joint sits on a site that used to house a multi-story brick building. That brick building was torn down when I was a young boy in this neighborhood to make room for a series of pizza joints over the years. Find the name of that building that was torn down in the late 60s, only the name. Write it down with no spaces and again using the letter as numbers A-Z =1-26. The name will not be found at the site, will have to look that up unless you were one of the ones standing there when it came crashing down. I'm told there is a picture of the building in the pizza joint, however no caption naming the building.
Next coord for final is W AA BB.CCC
Where
AA is the sum of the 1st 10 letters plus the 12th letter.
BB is is the sum of the 1st 4 letters plus the 6th letter.
CCC is the sum of all the letters plus 36.
The final (PVC container, be sure to re-seal it) is somewhat near a location long ago rumored to contain buried treasure. Please do not dig in the area, I got all of the gold as a young boy :). Mrs. Bearfood basically married me for my gold. I repeat, there is no real gold in them thar hills, only dreams of riches.
The cache is easily accessible, no backhoes, chainsaws, or other special equipment needed. There is but a single discreet clue regarding the building name in the description besides the following. The building was a 2 word name total 14 characters, omit the space, I won’t tell more unless needed.
For the FTF, an envelope containing $5 American. If I can get some before FTF may also contain a small chunk of Iron Pyrite. Contains a log book and a few other small items. Enjoy this trip down memory lane.
