Geocache Description:

Magnetic key holder. Cache is not located on the Groesbeck House property or any other private property; it is accessible from public land. My GPSr had an accuracy of 40 feet so I have gathered coordinates from aerial photos and used simple math calculations to give directions to this offset cache. Please let me know if you get better coordinates and/or projection angles.

"This elegantly simple, Italianate-style building was the residence and office of early Chicago physician Abraham Groesbeck. It is one of the few structures to survive from pre-fire Chicago, when Washington Boulevard was one of the city's most-exclusive residential streets, home to such families as the Cranes, Glessners, and Harrisons, as well as Mary Todd Lincoln, the widow of President Abraham Lincoln."

Otis L. Wheelock is the architect of this building that was built in 1869. It was designated a landmark on January 12, 1993. Passing by there today, you will notice that it is home to a salon and an advertisement for other useful space.

To find the cache, stand in front of the Groesbeck House and project about 210-220 feet at an angle of approximately 233.5 degrees from true north. Be discreet. Use the hint only if you need to.
