The series
The Sudoku grid is a 9km x 9km square centred on Northwich. Each
1km x 1km Ordnance Survey grid square in this area represents a
cell in the Sudoku puzzle. The SW corner of the grid is at
N053°12.998', W002°35.127' (SJ6100069000); the NE corner of the
grid is at N053°17.885', W002°27.096' (SJ7000078000).

Hidden in some of those squares are caches, such as this one,
that contain the number for that particular cell. The cells that
contain clues are indicated by question marks. Each cell is
referred to using a 4 digit OS grid reference for it's South West
corner.
The cache
The cache was re-located on 28th January 2011
This is cell SJ6571. The parking area is small and can be busy
if there's a fishing match on. Alternative parking is available in
the Fisherman's Car Park at the end of Wrenbury Drive but this can
be similarly busy. Failing that, park at Tesco Express, get a
pastry and enjoy the walk. The path next to which the cache is
located is very busy so stealth is required. There are a few other
caches close by as well.
The cache is a 0.5l lock and lock box covered with camouflage
tape. Inside the lid you will find the following
information:
- The OS grid square reference (for example: SJ6477)
- The number that you need for the Sudoku puzzle (for
example:9)
- The cell reference (for example d1)
The cache contains a customised “Northwich Sudoku”
first to find badge, a log book, a pencil, a sharpener and various
swaps.
When you have found enough clues, you will be able to solve the
Sudoku puzzle and find the
Puzzle Cache.
