Geocache Description:

A CITO Geocoin will be awarded to whomever collects the most trash from 9 am to 10 am in our 2nd annual Earth Week Support 4 Parks event on April 24th. Rain date April 25th. We do encourage trash pickup throughout the entire day.

Join MHC community partners at Jack Dalton Park for fun Earth Day games and activities! We will be displaying creative ways to be green and take care of our planet the way it takes care of us!

Trash has been snagged on plant growth on the edges of the park from the blustery winds of winter. Please help us clean up our parks.

Other Earth Week Festival Events for the day will continue on site all day long, so pack up your family, bring your cameras and a picnic basket for a fun-filled day at this community celebration!
Meet us at the picnic shelter for pickup supplies, water, snacks, the central meeting point for an informal check-in/weigh-in.

This CITO event is sponsored by the Southwest Piedmont Chapter of the Virginia Master Naturalist Program.

Jack E. Dalton Park is located in Collinsville behind the Henry County Administration Building on Refuse Road.
Facilities include:
Lighted, Paved Walking Trail
Beach Volleyball Court
Picnic Shelter, Cooking Grills
Restrooms
Two Baseball/Softball Fields
Playground and Open Space

Why:

1. To meet with others in a supportive setting to clean up trash
2. To increase local citizens' awareness of worldwide coordinated volunteer opportunities for clean-up efforts through geocaching "Cache In Trash Out (CITO)" events publicized on www.geocaching.com/cito
3. To encourage the stewardship and use of our local parks in the City of Martinsville
4. To provide a place for geocachers to visit with each other and be recognized for supporting this and similar events
