How Geocaching Works
Cherokee County Tour is series of caches to showcase historical and/or unique POI in Cherokee County Iowa. The caches are in no particular order. As I remember or discover a POI that I feel would make a good cache site I will add it to the series. I hope you enjoy the tour.
Although not much of a “mountain” now, when I was quite young this was a very steep hill. I remember my mother and grandparents telling tales of having to take this route home after a Saturday night in town. In those days the roads were dirt and not gravel. After a rain the route was very treacherous. Even with good weather a low fuel tank required them to back up the hill so the gasoline would continue to flow to the engine. As you look at the hill try to imagine it when it was much steeper and driving an old car with hopefully good brakes that would hold coming down, especially at the bottom.
A micro. The container is a "bino", a cross between a bison tube and a nano.
