How Geocaching Works

Geocache Description:

Are you new to geocaching? Are you experienced? No matter what you know or do not know about geocaching, this event should have something that you can take away and use to find or hide on future geocaching outings.

At this event we will cover the following topics:

Overview of GPS technology and geocaching
Understanding the basics of geocaching
Finding a cache
Hiding a cache
Using your GPS receiver
Using your smartphone for geocaching
...your choice here

Depending on the experience level of the group we may spend more or less time on specific topics. If there are specific topics you're interested in learning more about feel free to email, mention in your RSVP, or just ask about at the event. This event is about all of us becoming better cachers and learning from each other. Once the presentation has concluded, there will be time to answer questions and provide some one-on-one instruction.

The Class will begin at 10AM - DON'T BE TARDY, or I will be forced to send you to the principals office! We will meet in one of the back rooms at Harry's, it shouldn't be too hard to find us.

While in the area, please don't forget about the OCCT, lot's of fun caches on the trail for you to check out! Also, join us for our other events for Valparaiso Days: GC40G3K (CITO Event) and GC46JVG (an Amazing Race type cache challenge)
