Welcome back to Happy Camp……
We placed five new caches in the area to bring people back to the beautiful canyon that was once devastated in the 2003 Val Verde/Simi wildfires, and again in 2004 due to heavy rains and flooding.
Although you can still see remains of the fire and flood, this canyon has begun to rebuild itself into a world of it’s own.
From the grasslands to the hill tops to the canyon walls, Happy Camp canyon welcomes everyone to see the beauty of nature and her beautiful signs of re-growth.
Parking is at the end of Broadway, east of Moorpark Rd. There is a $3.00 fee for parking in the designated area.
Be sure to check out other caches in the area.
There is very little shade along the way, I recommend a early morning hike, and bring lots of water.
Be sure to take the trail where you see a old water tank.
