hosted by
Lennox
and Addington County Economic Development.
We are excited to invite you to our
community.
L&A County
is located in beautiful Eastern Ontario only 20
minutes
from Kingston
and Belleville.
Our borders stretch from the shores of Lake Ontario to Canadian
Shield Land as far
North as Denbigh,
Ontario.
L&A County has a large rural base with many small communities
giving the County a rich local flavor.
Our communities include Greater Napanee, Loyalist Township,
Stone Mills Township and Addington Highlands Township
We are
planning on placing 60 new permanent caches of varying terrain
and difficulty throughout our County.
Each of these caches will help you to discover L&A

The coins will be available for purchase for the low price of

How ever !!
The County of Lennox and Addington have also decided

you may get a free one.

Coins (or certificate for coins) may be added to caches
through out the day
There will be a BINGO type game, with coin(s) for prizes
Staff from the event and L&A will be out and about through
out
the event, if they see you geocaching, they just might stop and
say
"Hi", they might just have a coin or 2 in their pockets.

be
recognized better.
****
We have been approached and e-mailed by many cacher's with a few
questions.
Here they are, with answers.
Q. Do I have to show up to the
opening ceremonies?
A. No, but we would really like you
to, as we will be handing out information
packages, and game sheets, that may earn you a prize or 2.
***
Q. Can I hide caches for
the event, and do I need to do anything special?
A. As a geocacher you may hide caches
when ever you like, it is not necessary to
hide caches for the event to participate,
but if you would like to hide caches, please do the
following.
1) What ever you name your cache,
preface it with L&A, so if your cache is called
"Playing in the sand", call it "L&A Playing in the sand".
This will help cachers track what caches were published
for the event
2) On your listing please add to the
bottom " This cache is being placed for the
Discover Lennox and Addington Geocaching Event
Please do not hunt for this cache before 9am on August 27,
2011
This gives everyone a fare shot at the FTF's
3) In the "Reviewers note" area, let
them know that your cache is for the
Discover Lennox and Addington Geocaching Event
GC2WFG8
and to hold it for publishing until 4pm
August 26th, 2011
Publishing the caches the night before allows cachers to do
PQ's for the event caches.
4) Submit early, real early We
are submitting over 50 caches for the event
This is a lot of work for the VOLUNTEER reviewers, yes they
have lives out side of geocaching. This will allow you a buffer
time
if your cache does not pass review, to fix the issues.
5) Please keep the caches with in the
boundaries of Lennox and Addington
If you do not know where that is, ask us , we can help.

Q. I see the event is at
the Lions hall. Mmmmmm Beer
A. Well, that one was not really a
question, but here goes, No Beer, Bad beer stay home
Seriously, this is a Family Event, it is a NON-Alcholic event as
well.
Mmmmmm pop and juice and water Mmmmmm.
***
Q. We do not drive, will
there be caches with in walking distance of the event?
A. Napanee has lots of caches you
could walk to, and will have a few
more walkable caches for the event.
But hey! Were a big family here, post on the event listing
using
"Write Note" under "Log your visit" stating you would like to catch
a ride
to do some caching
I bet someone will offer you a seat.
You can also post the same request on our Facebook page.
***
Q. Ok fess up L&A, I
heard a rumor that you are minting a Geocoin
for the event, is it true and what will it look like,
and how do I get one, and how much
and how many and, and,and,,
A. Whooooaaaa, slow down there
son.
Ok here's the scoop, YES there will be a coin minted for the
event.
Keep and eye on this listing and the Facebook page
for details on ,what they will look like and how you can get
one
or two, or lots.
