Geocache Description:

You are looking for an ammo can placed where the view of Jamul to the Southeast and the views to the west toward Rancho San Diego, La Mesa, San Diego, and the ocean beyond are spectacular on a clear day. It is about a mile walk from the parking location. The trail is very steep and rocky in places.

This cache was placed near the top of McGinty peak in an area off the trail a bit. There is no bushwacking involved in getting to the cache because the vegetation is not thick and dense in that area.

The ammo can contains a log book and pen as well as some additional swag including:

HP Jornada leather case (for all you Paperless cachers)
Car Visor CD holder
small lock and key
small stuffed animal

I hope you will take time to enjoy the views and please post your pictures. I saw a young hawk flying overhead just before I got to the cache site.

Please be cautious as this is snake country and the cache is placed near some rocky outcrops.

The trail to this cache originates at the end of Hidden Trail/Hidden Wood/Hidden Ridge parking area. Hidden Trail is accessed off Lyons Valley Road. Use GCPMXD, "You Can Cache" as a bread crumb to get to the parking area for this cache.
