I recently discovered Elysian Park and wanted to share some of the
trails I've found.
It is a busy place on the weekend, requiring discretion during the
hunt. If you can get here during the week, so much the better. Of
course, if you come during rainy weather, you will almost have the
place to yourself. However, then there is the added safety issues
that come with the rain, ie: Slippery trails and land slides.
Please be mindful of the conditions. After heavy rains, some
sections of trail may be blocked off for safety.
This is a popular dog walking area and even though there is a leash
ordinance, most are off leash.
I've spotted woodpeckers and hawks in the park.
There are several places to park, one of which is a lot at N34
05.143, W118 14.752
While exploring the trails, I noticed the dichotomy of this spot.
Beautiful green slopes and trees pleasure the eyes, while the roar
of the freeway assaults the ears.
This section of trail is less frequently traveled, but don't count
on hunting in private. Muggles and their dogs can appear on the
trail below at a moment's notice.
The cache is a camo'd plastic box.
I rated this a 2 terrain because the last part is a bit steep
and uneven.
These Elysian Park caches are my first caches. I welcome input
regarding d/t rating and placement.

#3634: Along with Not Jade, this cache has been on my list for about 2 years, but never made it to exactly this spot in the park. It's not really a park and grab, but is a nice little walk. Did see a couple of muggles pass by as i approached from above.
Got a good pic of the Station Fire from the trail above the cache. Will attach later. Now that's nature in action. (even if prompted by a human)
Dropped a TB.
Only 2 caches left in Elysian Park now, M and Geo-Stationary. Will get em soon!

Found after the Dodger win. Saw a very small snake just as we were starting are short hike to the cache. Thanks for the cache.ThudpUCKer
