Geocache Description:

This is a fairly straightforward multicache on the Lickey Hills. At less than a mile, it should be easily done within an hour, but best only in daylight. Though the paths are quite solid, they are uneven in places, so walking boots might be a good idea (or wellies when wet). It is probably unsuitable for pushchairs, although the more adventurous buggy pushers might disagree.

The hunt begins at the “Castle” on Beacon Hill, at N52º 22.930’ W002º 01.181’. This is a great area to bring the family for picnics, walking, kite flying and sport. From here there are good views North toward Birmingham and South towards Worcester and the Malverns. Free parking is at N52º 22.860’ W002º 01.249’.

1) On the toposcope, look for BROAD HEATH and write down the numbers:
BROAD HEATH A B C D E ft.

2) Now go to the trig point at N52º 22.947’ W002º 01.043’. Note the four digit number which begins with S on the flush bracket near the base of the trig point.
S G H J K.

3) The cache is located at:
N52º 2A.CEG’ W002º 0D.CJH’

To reach the cache, don’t go clambering through the woods “as the crow flies”. All but the last 70ft can be done on good wide footpaths. Wait for the GPS arrow to swing and then follow it into the woods.

The cache is a 470ml plastic food box with a clip-on lid, hidden within its own natural cache box.

Please take care not to be seen – this is a muggle-rich environment, especially on weekends and bank holidays.
