Welcome to the Simi Valley Town Center. Ever since the opening
of this new mall back in Oct 2005, I've had the idea to place a
couple multi-caches here at the mall. This multi will give you a
brief tour of the outer parts of the mall and surrounds of the
parking area. My
Simi Valley Town Center Multi #2 provides a
brief tour of the interior of the mall. Neither require you to
enter any store, just simply enjoy the beauty of the area and
the architecture of the mall.
This multi encompasses 12 waypoints to solve the coordinates for
the final cache. At each waypoint, you will find a number. Enter
that number into the chart below as you visit each waypoint. Once
you have all the numbers (be sure to do the simple math on those
that have such notes) the final coordinates are solved by entering
those numbers in order as indicated below the chart. The final
cache is near the mall, so you can easily drive to each WP then to
the final.
In an effort to make things easier, the 12 waypoints are
available for download through the site as child waypoints. If you
click the GPX exchange file (premium members only) button at
the top of this page, you can download that file complete with all
12 waypoints. You can get the same waypoints from any pocket query.
Just load these into your GPSr and save yourself the time of
entering them manually. GSAK and other programs support child
waypoints and can automatically load them for you.
Don't let the 12 waypoints discourage you from attempting this
cache. If you pre-load all the WPs before attempting this cache, it
can be done in 20 minutes or less. I think you'll find this
multi-cache concept rather unique and fun to do. Have fun and
enjoy!

[view this log] | June 30 by TOHiker (2573 found) This was a fun challenge. I liked the way we had to find the numbers - pretty cool. With all the driving back and forth, I'm glad we were in Big Eagle's Prius. This would be a good cache do to on a bike. Thanks for the hide. TNLNSL.
[view this log] | June 30 by Big Eagle (5193 found) TOHiker and I played bumper cars this morning. Except for the car sickness it was fun. He ran the GPS and navigated while I drove. We held our respective breath when it came time to go for the final, but all worked fine. Thanks for the challenge.
