This a replacement for KevinZAF's Tweede Waterval cache.
It is located at the end of a 3.5km hike (~3 hours there and back) along the Eerste River in the beautiful fynbos of the Jonkershoek nature reserve, at the base of the second highest waterfall in South Africa.
The cache itself is a medium-sized plastic container that locks on all four sides.
Drive along the circle route, and park just after the bridge at the far end of this track.
The trail starts about 150m before the bridge. On the way, you'll see a path forking off to the right (with a pole that used to have a sign for Eerste Waterval). Continue past this path (unless you want to give Eerste Waterval a quick visit).
There's one quite steep ascent, but the rest is fairly easy going. Continue past the warning sign. You'll eventually arrive at the river, with a path that continues through it. Right before the river another path leads to the right, towards Tweede Waterval. Take this one. The cache is somewhere on this path...
Note that the cache is not situated at the waterfall itself. To get to the waterfall, you'll need to continue past the cache location, and I recommend you do, as the icy pool at the base of the waterfall is ideal for cooling down on a hot day!
Unfortunately, entrance to the reserve is not free. It's R40 per person. The gate opens at 7:30 and closes at 18:00.
