Team LympstoneBogtrotters cordially invite cachers from afar and near to attend their very first geocaching event - to be held at Phear Park Cafe in Exmouth between three and five o'clock on Saturday the 29th August 2015. An opportunity to meet with other cachers in a social setting, enjoy some geo-chatter, swap and discover some trackables, and possibly even pick up a hint for that fiendish puzzle cache you've been trying to solve for ages. New cachers are very welcome, and there will be opportunities to find your very first geocaches! Experienced cachers will be on hand to provide help and advice, and even to support and accompany you on your very first hi-tech treasure hunt!
The main entrance to the park is located on Withycombe Road, opposite the end of Park Road, just follow the road up through the park to cafe which serves light refreshments. Public Convenencies are available adjacent to the cafe, and there is ample FREE parking next to the cafe. Additional free parking is available at Exmouth Tennis & Fitness Centre on Withycombe Village Road. The whole area is level, and there is easy access to the cafe for wheelchair users. There is additional undercover seating available to the front of the cafe, and also picnic tables to the side.
A Traditional cache and a multi-cache involving a pleasant stroll around the Park will hopefully be published to coincide with the event
The Park itself has an excellent array of facilities for all ages including the recently added skatepark and grafetti wall. The huge Lucombe Oak, in the centre of the park, which came down in the storms of 2012 has been turned into a play area and proves very popular with visitors.
There are 3 potvaliant caches (phsycopath series) within a stones throw of the cafe, and a further two - Yukons treasure and Elements: Water 1 within easy walking distance.
I hope to hold a raffle and prizes will include a Road Trip '15 Geocoin and Trackables. All profits from the raffle will be donated to a worthwhile cause which will be announced on the day.
There will be a Travel Bug Hotel available to drop off any trackables / geocoins you have trying to escape from the bottom of your caching bag, and hopefully plenty of Geocoins and TB's to discover too. I would ask that if you are retrieving any trackables from the event, could you please keep the number down to a maximum of a couple to give other cachers a chance to move a few on.
Dogs are welcome in the Park, and can also accompany their owners in the undercover seated area and picnic areas. There are a couple of useful dog rail points either side of the cafe for securing geo-hounds, and I will supply some bowls of fresh water for our fury caching partners.
