What a long trip! On our way home to SFO, we flew through HFT, HAC, TTN, and NAN airports. We had lots of time to think about geocaching, of course. One thing we noticed was that our 5 airport codes, when written in the order traveled, represent a location that looks to be approximately in line with SFO’s 2 short runways. Looking closer, the location seems to be approximately on a straight line extended from the more southern runway of that pair. Coincidence?! Maybe, but we thought we better put a cache there anyway.
The digits of the N coordinates sum to 34 and the digits of the W coordinates sum to 20.
Now, AFTER you've solved the puzzle, to get the NEW cache location as of 12/25/2012 (see below for details):
Add 010 to the last 3 digits of the N coordinates
Subtract 048 from the last 3 digits of the W coordinates
Bring your own pen. The hide itself is Difficulty Level 2.
Hours are 6am – 9pm.
July 22, 2006 Update The original hide location was changed by the city landscapers and there is no longer a place for the cache there. We changed the hide location, left the puzzle as originally designed, and gave offsets that needed to be added or subtracted to the original puzzle solution to get the new hide coordinates.
Dec 25,2012 Update This cache is now a magnetic nano in a slightly different location than the previous hide. Hint updated with slightly more info to help narrow the search. Offsets on cache page have been changed to reflect new location. (The old offsets were N +003, W -052.)
