Top of the Hill Cache is at
“The Alameda Gateway” which marks the entrance into Belmont
at the San Mateo border. The Alameda Gateway Project, which
was recently completed, included the construction of a
“Belmont” monument sign and installation of landscaping on
the east side of The Alameda.
Check out my landscape picture near the cache site. There
appears to be a strange object in the clouds.
I grew up on 31st Avenue before there were any houses
on the northerly side of the hill or south of 31st where I lived.
Those were the days of black out window shades, ration stamps,
victory gardens and stray cows getting into our yard from the
pasture across the street. Anyone remember the Andrew Williams
grocery store which was the only store in the area where the
Hillsdale Mall is now located?
This cache is a sign only small cache. Please bring your
pen to log your find and please put the log back exactly how you
found it. Also, please put the cache back in its hiding place
exactly as you found it.
I am trying a waterproof log sheet for the first time; let
me know if there are any problems with the paper.
Although the cache is partially out of sight, you DO NOT
need to move any vegetation on the ground to find this
cache.
