Geocache Description:

Regular cache is a walk from Kingsdown to Hawksdown. You will find the clues you need in the churchyard, then follow the GPS along the public footpath to the cache.

At your destination you will be on the training ground of the 16th century Walmer Castle garrison. The freedown takes its name from the commander of the castle at that time Captain Hawke. On the site there is also a lovely WW1 Memorial to the aerodrome that was here from April 1917 to October 1918,if you follow the footpath you will walk past it ,if you dont you may miss it!Walmer Castle is very close by and well worth a visit(you are almost in the rear gardens). The walk takes about 20mins(one way)and has some stunning views and unique flora and fauna. The cache is a well disguised plastic cliplock container and contains various goodies for swops. The coord's above are for parking at the church only! You can get a lot closer once you have visited here but you will miss out!
